NASCAR 2018 Preview: Season Kickoff in Daytona

The short break between the Miami Homestead championship and Daytona seems to have flown by as another NASCAR season is upon us. The Clash at Daytona will mark a fresh start for veteran drivers and an opportunity for rookies to shine as they prep for the Daytona 500. While the MRN and PRN broadcast teams are gearing up for what will certainly be another headline-filled year. The biggest stories of the year are yet to be told, but the second year of stage racing will bring new challenges. Some teams adapted to the 2017 rule changes better than others. Furniture Row Racing took home a whopping 19 stage wins and ultimately the Cup championship title for their Driver, Martin Truex Jr. Will there be a repeat victory for Truex, or will another team figure out the formula to beat out their strategy?

Coming up from their successes in other series, the young stars will be the ones to watch as they join the big leagues. After winning the 2017 Xfinity series and Sunoco Rookie of the Year, William Byron is ready to take on the Monster Energy Cup series. 2015 Camping World Truck champion Erik Jones will also have the chance to prove himself in his first full-time season as #20 to replace Matt Kenseth.

Before she hangs up her fire suit, Danica Patrick plans to go out with a bang, racing in both the Daytona 500 and Indy 500 – the ‘Danica Double.’ Just a few months back, there was uncertainty if she would find an owner to put her in a car for 2018. But first, she needed a sponsor. She accomplished just that by reuniting with GoDaddy, the brand that had her back as she launched her racing career. We’ll be rooting for her as she puts the finishing touches on a ground-breaking career. All of the driver’s careers and their victories would not be possible without the sponsors – and no one gets that more than the fans. NASCAR surpasses all other major US sports in brand loyalty and is number one in fans who consider trying, consciously support, and recommend sponsors.* This is the place where sponsors are celebrated, the NASCAR environment is ripe with creative opportunities for your brand to shine.

With full customization available, audio sponsorships are only limited to your brand’s creativity. In-race integrations include sponsorship of the ‘Caution Flag’ or the ‘Winning Moment’ are high-impact and build consistent brand presence. (FYI - in 2017, the number of yellow caution flags averaged eight per race!)

Packages are also available with tie-ins to the season’s marquee events. Memorial Day is more than a national holiday; it also marks one of the biggest race weekends of the year. Memorial Day packages include presence across NASCAR with PRN’s Coca-Cola 600 broadcast AND IndyCar with the Indy 500. Packages in 3rd and 4th quarters tap into the excitement leading up to and during the Monster Energy Cup, Xfinity, and Truck series playoffs.

The first green flag of 2018 drops on February 11th – are you ready? All season long, MRN and PRN offer unparalleled exposure across their flag-to-flag broadcasts and 360-degree motor racing coverage. In fact, MRN was just named the winner of 14 National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) Awards!
